 SUPPORT ENGINEER- NETWORK/ PC HARDWARE

The company is looking for a technical support engineer with experience of supporting server, workstations, PC, network and desktop applications, active directory, and MS Office. To ensure the stable and efficient performance of clients servers through the active monitoring of hardware performance. Skills required include the ability to configure and troubleshoot servers including MS Exchange 2003, Windows Server 2003. Also required is the ability to configure and troubleshoot network architecture including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VPN. Experience in IIS and ISA, Backup Exec, configuration migration/maintenance, active directory architecture. Experience in SQL, disaster recovery, basic scripting would be useful. Methodical with good organizational skills.

The Role involves: Network, Server & Desktop Support, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, CISCO, Printer, Scanner and other computer peripherals implementation support, installations, break fix support within the London and Berkshire area.

You will have solid networking skills- particularly strong with LAN/WAN products, TCP/IP networking and ideally experience with Cisco, Hardware break fix for HP Server, Desktop, printer specially HP thermal, Desk Jet, multipurpose printer plotter and other products, CAL COMP wide scanner, Meeting board, PRS products.

With the responsibility of looking after a hundred PCs and talking directly to clients, you should be a first class communicator- able to solve problems and discuss their solutions with people of varying technical abilities. The ideal candidate would have the following criteria/ experience to match with company desire:

Education: B.Sc Engineering / M.Sc in Electronics/ Physics

Vendor Level Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience on vendor level product management, Product branding, PC building. HP replacement/ warranty claim management.

Hardware Product Knowledge: HP, Compaq server, workstation, desktop, Hand held, Laptop HP and Lexmark printer, GTCO calcomp products (meeting board, PRS, wide scanner), POCKET PC, Kiosk system. POWER BACKUP system specially APC smart system, Educational institute LAB equipments.

Software Knowledge: Microsoft Operation System (Widows 98, XP, 2000 Pro, 2000 Server, 2000 AD server, 20003 Server), MS office 2003.
Service Support Experience: Must have minimum 5 years of experience to manage, support to HP products within the HP authorized service delivery partner.

IT Training: Minimum 1 year experience on IT training. Past attachment with any university will be considered as the highly desired advantage for this role.

Professional Certification:

• HP APS ( Server & Workstation maintenance) • HP First Certified – Hardware and supply solution • CCNA • A+ • Vendor Certification on Network • ITIL / ITSM Certification • Support Service CRM

Following knowledge will be advantageous: Electronics circuit, Electronics appliance design experience, Break fix experience, Electronics circuit component level repairing, Electrical power line.

Software Knowledge: MS Exchange 2003, Windows Server 2003 including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VPN. Experience in IIS and ISA, Backup Exec, Active Directory Architecture, Experience in SQL, LINUX.
